Show Dates: 06.07.2017 – 11.07.2017

Vadim Stein is a photographer who makes Russian dancers the subject of his masterful portraits on a scale that has surpassed the admiring boarders of ballet lovers.  Born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1967, and now residing in the picturesque city of Saint Petersburg, Russia, Vadim had juggled the professions of actor, lighting technician and decorative sculptor before directing those background experiences into photography. The light, the poses, the incredible dynamics of his freeze-frames have contributed into producing each work as undeniable objects of art.

Vadim’s black & white and colour eye-catching portraits of dancers captivate the viewer through capturing the airy elegance and grace of the subject’s movements & strength.  Vadim has explained that through raising the question of aesthetics in his works he hopes to “shed the light onto multiple ethical issues…such as love, hate, death and love as paramount aspects of our society in which beauty is the predecessor of the aesthetic ideal”.

Vadim Stein now works as a photographer, sculptor and stage designer.
